Pay: $75k - 90k depending on experience

Schedule: 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior CMM Programmer to support Quality and Manufacturing teams by providing advanced CMM programming expertise for both existing machining processes and New Product Development (NPD). This role serves as a technical leader in measurement systems, inspection strategy, and continuous improvement while mentoring CMM Programmers and supporting shop floor operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, develop, validate, debug, and optimize CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso , including complete supporting documentation
• Serve as a technical expert for complex inspection strategies, measurement methods, and GD&T interpretation
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, quality, and skilled trades to support manufacturing and customer requirements
• Lead and support the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of CMM programming and measurement systems
• Recommend and implement programming best practices and lean measurement strategies
• Design or support inspection fixturing and work-holding solutions
• Troubleshoot CMM equipment issues, program errors, and measurement discrepancies
• Support New Product Development (NPD) measurement planning and First Article Inspection (AS9102) activities
• Train and mentor CMM Programmers, inspectors, and manufacturing personnel
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve inspection efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability
• Support internal and external audits as a subject matter expert
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or technology-related field preferred, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of CMM programming and inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong hands-on experience with Zeiss Calypso (required)
• Working knowledge of CAD systems such as CamWorks, Mastercam, or equivalent
• Advanced proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Experience using precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, pin/thread gauges, indicators, height gauges, and optical comparators
• Knowledge of machine design, tooling, fixturing, and inspection setup techniques
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to train and mentor others
• Eligibility to work with ITAR-controlled data and materials required
