Job Title: Assistant SuperintendentJob Description

The Assistant Superintendent will support construction activities for a series of projects at Belle Isle, totaling approximately $2M in additional work. This role focuses on assisting the Superintendent with daily field operations, crew coordination, and general construction oversight. It is designed to enhance field coverage and manage work across multiple locations, ensuring project progress, quality, and seamless coordination with the existing team. The scope includes the construction of comfort stations, picnic shelters, and site improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with daily field operations.
• Coordinate crews and manage construction oversight.
• Ensure project progress and quality across multiple locations.
• Maintain coordination with the existing team.
• Oversee construction of comfort stations, picnic shelters, and site improvements.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience working for a general contractor.
• Experience with large projects over $5M.
• Ability to support and work alongside an existing superintendent and field team.
• Experience managing or assisting with multiple small projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and coordination skills across geographically dispersed work areas.
• Knowledge of construction management, subcontractor management, safety protocols, OSHA 30, and Procore.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Public or municipal project experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting site work across multiple locations.
• Familiarity with park, site improvement, or public facility construction.

Work Environment

This position is 100% on-site in Detroit and is field-based, reporting to the current Superintendent. The work involves active construction sites across Belle Isle and includes managing multiple small projects spread over a large geographic area. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/hr.
