General Manager
Reports To: Executive Leadership / COO
Overview
The Site Operations Manager is responsible for leading all field operations, personnel, and assets at a specific location. This role ensures services are delivered safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality standards. As a key member of the leadership team, the Site Operations Manager works closely with ownership, management, and staff to drive operational excellence, employee development, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Supervision
• Oversee daily lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal operations.
• Schedule, route, and allocate crews for maximum efficiency.
• Inspect properties to ensure quality standards and identify enhancement opportunities.
• Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
• Drive continuous improvement in field processes and systems.
Team Management & Training
• Lead seasonal and new hire training programs.
• Mentor and develop Crew Leaders to effectively manage their teams.
• Monitor training progress of new employees during their first year.
• Provide consistent coaching, feedback, and recognition while addressing performance issues promptly.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, safety, and accountability.
Client Relationship Management
• Serve as primary contact for clients at the site level.
• Conduct property assessments and resolve client concerns quickly.
• Proactively identify opportunities for upselling or service expansion.
• Handle escalated or complex service issues with urgency.
Asset & Facility Management
• Manage vehicles, equipment, tools, and materials.
• Ensure timely maintenance and repairs of all assets.
• Recommend seasonal equipment purchases or replacements.
• Keep shop and yard safe, organized, and clean.
• Open/close shop as needed.
Communication & Leadership
• Maintain daily check-ins with management.
• Respond promptly to customer requests, emails, and texts.
• Actively participate in leadership and strategic planning meetings.
• Clarify and enforce company policies, including timekeeping for company truck drivers.
Metrics / Goals
Personnel
• Incidents: Goal zero; minimize and resolve effectively when they occur.
• Retention: Goal 100% retention; realistic goal is reducing negative turnover by increasing satisfaction.
Customer Satisfaction
• Work Quality: Property inspection rating of 90% or higher.
• Complaints: Goal zero; realistic goal is to minimize.
Crew Profitability
• Efficiency (actual vs. budget): 100%.
• Productivity (hours on job vs. hours paid): 85% or higher.
Qualifications
• Proven leadership experience in lawn/landscape or related field operations.• Financial acumen with ability to manage budgets and profitability.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Proficient with operational software and technology.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while upholding company values: Focused, Integrity, Team Player.
Compensation: $50,000-$70,000 depending on experience.
Hourly/Salary options available.
