Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. This role focuses on building and maintaining reusable platform components that enhance developer productivity, requiring deep expertise in designing and integrating infrastructure and self-service tooling.

Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Software Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with architecture and engineering teams to design platform infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, databases, and cloud services.

• Implementing and managing platform infrastructure while performing upgrades, security patches, and performance enhancements regularly.

• Evaluating cloud and containerization technologies to develop reusable configuration abstractions for application teams.

• Developing automated Infrastructure‑as‑Code scripts and integrating CI/CD processes to ensure consistent and traceable platform provisioning.

• Integrating performance monitoring practices and scaling mechanisms based on QoS and SLA metrics to support platform applications.

• Incorporating security, access control, identity management, encryption, and disaster recovery practices into platform infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 6 years in IT with at least 4 years in software development.

• Practical experience in two coding languages or advanced proficiency in one.

• Strong hands-on background in cloud infrastructure, PostgreSQL, Jenkins, and Java.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
