Software Engineer
Akkodis is seeking a Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. This role focuses on building and maintaining reusable platform components that enhance developer productivity, requiring deep expertise in designing and integrating infrastructure and self-service tooling.
Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Software Engineer job responsibilities include:
Collaborating with architecture and engineering teams to design platform infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, databases, and cloud services.
Implementing and managing platform infrastructure while performing upgrades, security patches, and performance enhancements regularly.
Evaluating cloud and containerization technologies to develop reusable configuration abstractions for application teams.
Developing automated Infrastructure‑as‑Code scripts and integrating CI/CD processes to ensure consistent and traceable platform provisioning.
Integrating performance monitoring practices and scaling mechanisms based on QoS and SLA metrics to support platform applications.
Incorporating security, access control, identity management, encryption, and disaster recovery practices into platform infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 6 years in IT with at least 4 years in software development.
Practical experience in two coding languages or advanced proficiency in one.
Strong hands-on background in cloud infrastructure, PostgreSQL, Jenkins, and Java.
