We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to oversee and manage financial operations in a dynamic environment. The role requires a hands-on approach to accounting functions, inventory analysis, and financial reporting, working closely with a dedicated team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

• Conduct month-end closings, including preparing and reviewing financial statements.

• Perform detailed inventory analysis, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective measures.

• Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with the accounting assistant to manage invoicing and other financial tasks as needed.

• Utilize ERP systems to streamline accounting operations.

• Analyze residual costs post-job completion to assess and compare current versus prior expenses.

• Develop and maintain procedures and checklists to ensure compliance and consistency in financial processes.

• Coordinate payroll submission for approximately 40 employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

• Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.

• Strong knowledge of ERP systems.

• Expertise in month-end closings and financial statement preparation.

• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed costing and inventory analysis.

• Proficiency in conducting ad hoc financial analyses to support business operations.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
