Facility Support Personnel

Schedule: Full Time | 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8 am - 4:30 pm
Department: Environmental Services | Muskegon, MI
What You'll Do In This Role:
Help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. As a Custodian, you’ll play a vital role in supporting participants, staff, and visitors by maintaining high standards of cleanliness that promote infection prevention, workplace safety, and overall comfort in a healthcare and adult day setting. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality ensure that all PACE facilities consistently meet health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Sanitation
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain all PACE facility areas, including:
- Participant care areas
- Day centers, rooms, and activity areas
- Exam and treatment rooms - Restrooms and breakrooms
- Offices, conference rooms, and staff areas
- Hallways, entrances, and common areas
- Perform floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and periodic deep cleaning
- Empty trash, recycling, and medical waste in accordance with policies and regulations
Facility Support
- Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, and cleaning materials
- Set up and break down rooms for participant activities, meals, clinics, meetings, and events
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs promptly to leadership
- Assist with snow removal, minor outdoor upkeep, or seasonal cleaning as assigned
Safety, Compliance & Confidentiality
- Follow OSHA, CDC, state, and PACE-specific health and safety guidelines, ensuring the facility remains safe and orderly
- Maintain awareness of HIPAA and participant confidentiality at all times
- Participate in required trainings related to infection control, emergency preparedness, and workplace safety
Emergency and Special Tasks
- Perform emergency cleaning tasks and special assignments as instructed by management.
- Ensure all duties contribute to maintaining the facility’s cleanliness, safety, and comfort for all participants, staff, and visitors.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Custodial or janitorial experience, preferable in healthcare, nursing home, or school setting preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year working with the frail and elderly.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighting up to 35 pounds without assistance.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety protocols desired.
- Knowledge with hospital or healthcare facility standards and cleanliness requirements desired
