IATF Quality Engineer | Muskegon, MI

Salary Range: $83,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead APQP activities, including FMEA, Control Plans, and MSA, for new product introduction and changes.
• Manage the PPAP submission and approval process with customers and suppliers.
• Facilitate root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5-Why) for quality issues.
• Participate in internal and external IATF 16949 audits and drive closure of findings.
• Implement and monitor statistical process control (SPC) techniques to ensure process capability and stability.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and quality records.

Recommended Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with IATF 16949 standard implementation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in core quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Proven experience in root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions (e.g., 8D), and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control within an automotive production environment.
• Certified IATF 16949 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency with advanced statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
• Experience with specific ERP quality modules (e.g., SAP QM).
• Direct customer quality interface experience within the automotive sector.
