Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Southfield, Michigan (48075) – Detroit metro area
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Department
• Employment Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist (locum tenens)
• Assignment Length: 13-week contract
• Shifts: 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00pm – 7:30am)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: January 10, 2026

Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a hospital setting
• Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Current registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Active Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Michigan
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Experience in neonatal intensive care or Trauma Level 2 facility is a plus

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care, life-support, resuscitation, and medical gas therapy to patients in a hospital environment
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and General Practice Units
• Maintain clinical expertise and flexibility for assignments across various hospital departments
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding patient care
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record
• Supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to other Respiratory Therapists, orients, externs, and students as assigned
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient billing information
