Assistant Finance Director
Lang Recruiting is partnering with a respected public-sector organization seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Director to support financial operations, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and governmental accounting functions.
This position serves as a key financial resource within the organization and works closely with leadership to ensure strong fiscal management, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements
- Assist with budget development, forecasting, and monitoring
- Coordinate audits and ensure regulatory compliance
- Perform financial analysis and project accounting
- Manage governmental accounting and reporting requirements
- Support transportation and infrastructure funding compliance
- Serve as a backup resource for accounting and payroll functions as needed
- Assist with special projects and organizational financial initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning and operational improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Governmental accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements
- Experience coordinating audits and regulatory reporting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial management systems
- Experience with Precision Road software required
- Experience with BS&A Financial Management Software preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
