Full-time, 40 hours/week
8:00 AM–5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch
- Standard hours Monday–Friday, with occasional flexibility required.

About The Role
The Director of Business and Operations is a key leadership position within MAASE. This role supports the Executive Director in overseeing the organization’s business functions, financial operations, HR coordination, compliance systems, and organizational infrastructure. The director plays both strategic and operational roles—managing long-term financial planning, supporting business model sustainability, coordinating with outsourced HR and accounting partners, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
This position works closely with the MAASE team, outsourced vendors, and the MAASE Leadership Team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing complex systems while supporting a remote, mission-driven nonprofit association.
About You
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business operations, nonprofit administration, or financial management.
- Demonstrated experience with bookkeeping or accounting processes.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Comfort working in a remote environment and independently managing workload.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience with QuickBooks or a similar accounting platform.
- Experience working with an association, nonprofit, or membership organization.
- Familiarity with HR processes or coordination.
- Experience with project management systems or operational software.
- Experience implementing business plans or conducting financial forecasting.
