Finishing Supervisor | Holland, MI

Salary Range: $60,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and evaluate finishing department personnel.
• Ensure all finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of finishing operations.
• Implement and enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Oversee the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of finishing equipment.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Manage inventory of finishing materials and supplies, minimizing waste.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing finishing operations, including 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Proficient understanding of various finishing processes (e.g., painting, coating, assembly, inspection) and associated equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a production team.
• Strong knowledge and application of quality control standards and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve production issues efficiently.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to manufacturing safety protocols.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience implementing Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) to optimize finishing processes.
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems for production scheduling, tracking, and data analysis.
• Certification in a specialized finishing technique (e.g., advanced powder coating, robotic polishing, specialized plating).
• Proven ability to develop and deliver training programs for production staff.
