TITLE : Media Technology Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma required
- Associates degree desired, relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
- A+ certification, Apple Technician certification, or equivalent experience recommended
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, macOS through Tahoe, and iOS devices/apps
- Experience providing 1st level support as it relates to building technology (preferably in an
educational setting) - Experience with installation, upgrade, repair, and maintenance of computer software,
hardware, and peripherals - Experience with media center management and library software desired
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of customer service
- Ability to work effectively with staff and students at their skill levels
- Effective communication, problem solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
- Capacity to thrive in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to train and support staff and students in the use of educational technologies
- Ability to adapt and learn new technologies needed to support staff and students
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-directed, self-motivated and ability to work with interruptions
- Have a willingness to continue to renew and add certifications and skills
- Have a high level of personal integrity and sensitivity to confidential information
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs and service ceiling mounted devices

REPORTS TO : Technology Director/CTO and/or his or her designee
SUPERVISES : Students as needed
JOB GOAL: Support and maintain library media center and textbook room, copy room functions,
student-based “genius bar” support center, and provide first level support to staff and students for
basic hardware and software needs for many district systems. This position works closely with the
21st Century Literacy Teacher, Media Specialist, and District Technology Department.
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists in the operation of the library media center including student ID preparation, book
checkout, overdue reports, weeding, shelving, book checkout, inventory, collection
development, patron updates, book repair, book and magazine processing, identifying
recourse, and assisting with parent contacts regarding lost/damaged materials.
2. Facilitate, assist, and supervise individuals, small, and/or large groups of students using the
media center
3. Supervise, maintain, and manage the textbook room and all resources associated
4. Assist staff and students in the use of all district technology
5. Manage help desk requests and provide assistance on all district technologies to staff and
students
6. Identify, research, and resolve technology-related problems and troubleshoot building
problems thoroughly before forwarding to district device support
7. Assist with the management and organization of the “genius bar” support model
8. Maintain an inventory listing of all technology in the building
9. Install technology and perform maintenance as directed by the district technology department
10.Assist staff with quoting and ordering of technology related supplies
11.Keep up to date on current technology tools in K12 education and provide training and
documentation as needed
12.Responsible for preparing and testing technology necessary for building presentations (i.e.
staff meetings, professional development, guest speakers, etc.)
13.Populate and maintain building kiosk system
14.Facilitate, manage, and support the collection, distribution, and storage of student devices
15.Facilitate issues related to copy machines to ensure available for staff use
16.All other duties assigned by Technology Director/CTO or designee
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Ten (10) Month position. Days/Hours are determined based on
building/district needs and various times of the school year.
EVALUATION : Evaluation of this job will be performed annually by the Technology Director/CTO
and/or his or her designee.
