Description
We are seeking a full-time evening word processor for our Detroit office.
Position hours are Monday- Friday, 12pm-8pm. Key ResponsibilitiesType, edit and transcribe legal documents and handwritten materials received from attorneys and their assistants in a busy law office. Proofread and redline documents to ensure accuracy of material, grammar and punctuation.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise- Requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience of 2-5 years in a legal or professional environment preferred
- Must possess excellent typing skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, including styling
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
- Knowledge of legal terms preferred
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors
- Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work quickly, efficiently and confidently without close supervision
