Physical Therapist
Job Summary: University Home Care is seeking a full time Physical Therapist to join our team and be able to travel around Detroit Description of the role: University Home Care is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physical Therapist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care using evidence-based practice. You will work closely with patients and their families to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate personalized treatment programs to promote their independence and functional abilities. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' physical and functional status to determine their rehabilitation needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and range of motion
- Instruct and educate patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises to continue their rehabilitation at home
- Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist
- Graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities

- Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of patients to assess their physical needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Administer therapeutic exercises and techniques, such as stretching, strengthening, and range of motion exercises, to promote improved mobility and function
- Utilize specialized equipment and modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation, to aid in patients' recovery and pain management
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for performing exercises and activities at home
- Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and integrate treatment goals and plans
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care, documentation, and communication
- Stay current on latest research and advancements in the field of physical therapy
- Valid and current license to practice physical therapy in the state of Michigan
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist
- Proven ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively with healthcare team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Physical stamina and dexterity to work with patients of varying mobility levels
- Knowledge of and adherence to all applicable legal and ethical standards
