Salary Range: $57,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to define project scope and requirements.
• Source and evaluate quotes from suppliers for raw materials and outsourced services.
• Develop and present detailed proposals and pricing to customers.
• Maintain and update a database of historical cost data and pricing models.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, labor costs, and overhead.
• Advanced proficiency with estimating software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost analysis and pricing.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for blueprint review and material take-offs.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with specific estimating software platforms (e.g., Sage Estimating, Accubid) or ERP modules.
• Knowledge of advanced cost accounting principles or financial modeling.
