Currently seeking a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to work a full time schedule 5 days a week.
Job Summary:
To oversee nutritional care of the residents.
Some Responsibilities and Duties of the Certified Dietary Manager:
Oversee the nutritional care of Center for Health Rehab Residents
- Complete nutrition assessments and at-risk follow ups.
- Develop resident nutritional care plans- monitor for effectiveness and revise as needed.
- Prepare for and/or attend interdisciplinary and family care conference and other meetings as needed.
- Oversee resident table service and meal delivery, assuring compliance with OBRA regulations and physician diet orders.
- Coordinate resident nourishment system.
- Develop and monitor Quality Assurance activities to monitor nutritional care.
- Provide in-services to nursing and dining services staff.
Maintain OBRA standards
- Complete assigned portions of Minimum Data Set.
- Monitor department for compliance with local, federal and state regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge of new standards through appropriate continuing education courses. Communicate new regulations to staff and administration.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) and/or a graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a nursing care community, hospital, or other related medical facility.
- Related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred;
- Must be knowledgeable of food services safety practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing food services functions in nursing care facilities.
- ServSafe Food, Allergen and Alcohol Certified (or ability to obtain after hire)
- Prefer Post-Secondary Education in hospitality management or dining room operations.
- Prefer experience with life plan community
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to make independent decisions within scope of practice when circumstances warrant such action.
- Ability to deal tactfully and communicate with team members, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public with patience and a cheerful disposition.
