Automotive Service Technician

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful career helping individuals regain independence through mobility solutions. Service Technicians install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair adaptive automotive equipment that enables people with mobility challenges to drive and travel safely.

Working in a collaborative environment, technicians help improve the lives of veterans, individuals with disabilities, families of children with special needs, and those recovering from injuries or life events. Each day provides the opportunity to deliver solutions that allow customers to live more freely and independently.

This position involves working with specialized mobility products such as wheelchair-accessible vehicles, adaptive seating, hand controls, scooter and wheelchair lifts, and other driving aids.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers and coworkers to confirm service and installation needs.

• Diagnose, repair, and install automotive mobility and electrical equipment according to industry and safety standards.

• Install adaptive equipment, including driving aids, restraint systems, wheelchair lifts, and mobility accessories.

• Inspect and test vehicles for quality, safety, damage, and compliance; document all findings and repairs.

• Review and verify the quality of work completed by other technicians.

• Maintain accurate records of service, repair, and installation work.

• Drive vehicles for diagnostics, test drives, customer pick-up/drop-off, and post-service delivery.

• Maintain clean, organized work areas, tools, and shop facilities.

• Respond to occasional after-hours service calls, including on-site visits when necessary.

• Assist with training and supervision of apprentice technicians.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Prior automotive repair experience strongly preferred.

• Electrical diagnostic and repair experience is a plus.

• Valid driver’s license required for vehicle testing, service evaluations, and parts transport.

Training & Development

• On-the-job training is provided at the primary service location.

• Additional training opportunities may be available at other locations or vendor facilities.

• All training time, travel, and related expenses are fully covered.
