Accounts Payable Specialist

VENTEON and Harvard Resource Solutions are hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a busy organization in Southfield, MI. Assist the accounting department in ensuring vendors are paid on time and accurately. Take part in onboarding and integrating new A/P locations for the organization.

POSITION TYPE : Full time. Direct Hire. Corporate office environment. Hybrid position (TUES & THURS in office) PAY: Based on education, years of experience, and relevant skills: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour.

Requirements of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• Bachelor degree is highly desired in Accounting, Finance, Business or related.

• Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in Accounting as an Accounts Payable Specialist.

• Strong analysis skills. Able to reconcile accounts and statements.

• Prior experience supporting the merger of new office locations would be a major plus.

• Strong computer skills. Skills working with automated ERP systems needed.

• Person with a strong willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to the long-term success of the team.

Duties of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• Work in a multiple location environment providing support for current and newly added locations.

• Take part in converting newly added locations by ensuring vendors are added into the system with correct information prior to cut over date, appropriate accounts are set up as needed, and validating post cutover to ensure all vendors are being paid properly. New locations are added on a regular basis. (Company provides back-office support for a specific industry).

• Set up new vendors and maintain vendor records ensuring bill to, remit to, terms and preferences are correct.

• Perform reconciliation of vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and follow up to ensure there are no delays or service disruptions.

• Use automated AP systems as it reduces manual entry and streamlines operations.

• Support ongoing process improvement efforts and assist in keeping standard operating systems documentation up to date.
