Salary: $30-$40/hr
People Architects is seeking a reliable, people-oriented HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations at our client's Michigan manufacturing facility.
As the sole onsite HR presence, this part-time role is vital to maintaining a positive employee experience through effective support in onboarding, employee relations, scheduling, PTO tracking, and general HR inquiries.
The HR Generalist will serve as the local HR point of contact for approximately 65 employees and will partner closely with the HR Manager located at our corporate headquarters in Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
- Foster a positive and respectful work environment through professional and confidential employee relations support.
- Escalate complex issues to the HR Manager as needed.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including paperwork, E-Verify, orientation, and facility tours.
- Ensure a smooth transition for new employees with clear communication and follow-up.
- Maintain and monitor employee attendance records and PTO balances.
- Support supervisors with scheduling questions and update internal systems accordingly.
- Assist with shift scheduling and coordination in partnership with production supervisors.
- Maintain accurate HR files and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Answer general benefits-related questions and assist employees with enrollment or changes.
- Coordinate with the corporate HR team for escalated benefits or leave-of-absence issues.
Qualifications (Required & Preferred)
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in HR, office administration, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Working knowledge of HR functions including onboarding, employee relations, time tracking, and benefits
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain confidentiality
- Comfortable working independently and prioritizing in a dynamic environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS/timekeeping systems a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or HR certification preferred
Working Hours & Schedule
- This is a part-time (total averaging 20 hours per week)
- Onsite Work schedule: 3 days per week (specific days to be mutually agreed upon)
