Developing Kingdoms In Different Stages (Developing K.I.D.S.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering communities through Youth Development, Family Engagement, Workforce Development, and Community Support. We aim to nurture leadership within each community we serve, fostering strong connections among families and individuals to build thriving communities.

Over the past four years, Developing K.I.D.S. has experienced significant growth, doubling its impact and expanding its team. Now fully operating in our new home, we are focused on deepening our impact through operational growth and long-term sustainability. We are a stable, non-federally funded organization that is thriving and serving the community with quality programs.

General Description of Position:

Developing K.I.D.S. (Developing Kingdoms In Different Stages) is seeking a dynamic, motivated, inspirational, and passionate individual to serve as its Director of Wraparound Programs. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Wraparound Programs provides leadership and oversight across Workforce Development, Community Support, College Access & Success, and Early Childhood Education program teams, including supervision of program managers and coordination of cross-program strategy. The desired candidate will coach and guide the program teams under their leadership in planning and administering programs and projects, ensuring compliance with regulations of program quality and operations. This is a full-time, salaried position that is not remote, nor hybrid. Responsibilities include: certification management, childcare licensing oversight, and regulatory compliance across programs. The position of Director of Wraparound Programs is a critical and visible position, requiring strong management, relationship building with youth across all ages, and program evaluation experience. Candidate must be detail-oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset to have the ability to take new projects from ideas to an expressed vision successfully.

Essential Functions:

  • Convey the mission, vision, impact, and member experiences in a compelling manner
  • Accountable for the execution and completion of program events and special projects
  • Responsible for the management and daily operations of the organization’s wraparound programs, with high-quality implementation
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and guidance to the program team members to coordinate and supervise daily operations
  • Manage wraparound program budgets, including, but not limited to, expense monitoring and auditing support
  • Work collectively with the Director of Finance to monitor grant spending and reporting for monthly meetings and grant reporting, in addition to services to be invoiced for vendor agreements of our services
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with new and existing community partners and vendors
  • Manage internal program data tracking, project management, and time tracking systems
  • Accountable for data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Management of systems that enhance program quality and efficiency
  • Co-develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas
  • Implement a professional development program to address employee experience and skill gaps
  • Lead manager of childcare license, working with the leadership team to ensure requirements are met throughout the year
  • Work with the team to develop objective performance measurements across all sites in Workforce Development, to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for team members and youth in the Workforce Development program
  • Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling oversight of individual and organizational performance standards
  • Support the recruitment, hiring, and training of direct report team members
  • Using the existing scorecard and program dashboard, establish consistent, objective program performance standards of accountability
  • Fulfilling other tasks/duties as assigned by the CEO

Qualifications:

  • Must have direct experience leading multiple youth-serving or community-based programs, including responsibility for staff supervision, program compliance, and performance outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s Degree desired, but practical work experience in the field can qualify
  • At least 8 years of experience, with three of those in a team management role
  • Qualify or ability to achieve qualification for childcare licensing program director status within 90 days
  • Demonstrated success in developing and evaluating program models, selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs
  • Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems
  • Strong project management skills in education or youth programs; managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth
  • Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group
  • Strength in hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, span-of-control, and performance
  • Deep understanding of human resources, employee performance improvement plans, and corrective action policies
  • Demonstrated results in managing through complex systems and proven experience negotiating win-win agreements
  • Organizational and leadership skills/Aptitude for problem solving
  • Youth Worker training is highly desired
  • Proficient with Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. Excel, Internet/E-mail and other tools, as necessary for communication and presentation needs
