Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Lansing, Michigan 48912
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours/week guaranteed (3 shifts/week)
• Contract Duration: 18 weeks (Start: 09/02/2025 – End: 01/06/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
• Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Parking: Free parking with badge access to garage
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1840 - $1890

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience
• Active Michigan RN license (required by start date; compact licenses not accepted)
• BCLS (AHA) certification required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Proficient in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• EPIC charting experience required
• Available for 2 of 3 major holidays (including the day before and after)
• Ability to float to all adult acute care units
• Proof of high school education required
• Preferred: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, ventilator management, conscious sedation, Level 1 Trauma experience

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit
• Monitor and manage patients before and after cardiac procedures, including catheterizations and surgeries
• Interpret and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform advanced nursing interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Float to other adult acute care units as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Complete orientation and required modules prior to assignment start
