Electrical Engineer
Job Description
We are hiring an Electrical Engineer to support a large industrial site. In this embedded, client-facing role, you will provide hands-on expertise across power distribution, substation performance, grid impact analysis, and large-scale electrical projects. You will work closely with on-site leadership and additional facilities engineers to troubleshoot complex electrical issues, perform advanced calculations, and guide projects from design through execution, ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
This role is responsible for analyzing and designing electrical requirements for new and existing equipment, substations, and site expansions, while evaluating how new loads impact overall grid reliability and efficiency. You will perform detailed electrical calculations including power factor correction, motor sizing, load studies, and substation sizing, and support troubleshooting efforts related to distribution systems and utility infrastructure. The position also involves reviewing and approving designs, inspecting installations, maintaining accurate engineering documentation, and coordinating with construction, maintenance, and testing teams. As needed, you may provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers or technicians.
Day to day, you'll collaborate with site electricians and engineers, calculate load growth and capacity needs, walk the campus to inspect substations and equipment, update drawings and documentation, and respond to urgent power or reliability issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
