Fabricator/Assembler
Pay Range: $17-$18/Hour
Hours: 6am - 4:30pm Monday thru Thursday. Overtime as needed.

This position is temporary with an opportunity to be hired full-time.

Position Summary
The Fabricator/Assembler is responsible for basic, manual tasks related to assembling industrial HVAC units. Tasks can include building basic subassemblies using hand tools (wrenches, hammers, pliers and drills), installing high-temp padding (either cut with retractable knife or using a simple spot welder), and assisting in installation of components for the unit (fans, shafts, dampers, etc.). After training, this position will build smaller HVAC units. Assignments will typically be overseen by the more experienced Assemblers in the area.

Essential Functions : RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Interface and communicate with other departments to accomplish tasks.
• Communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements.
• Must be available for overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Show operational proficiency with Hi-Lo equipment.
• Show operational proficiency with overhead crane equipment.
• Use of hand tools to install insulation and build subassemblies.
• Build smaller units for the commercial product line.
• Interface and communicate with other departments to accomplish tasks.
• Communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements for the above responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• MUST HAVE A BIAS FOR ACTION.
• MUST HAVE INITIATIVE TO RESOLVE ISSUES.
• Must be dependable and on-time.
• Must be able to identify and work with small hand tools.
• Ability to climb and descend ladders (some 10’ in height) while using power tools at times.

Working Conditions:

• Lifting required (up to 50lbs).
• Work performed standing the majority of the time.
• Shop floor position, heated, not air-conditioned.
• This position must comply with all company policies & procedures.
• The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following demands: lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling and crouching.

• IL Paid Leave for All Workers

An employee that works in Illinois is entitled to accrue and use up to 40 hours of paid leave during a 12 month period or a pro rata number of hours of paid leave under the provisions of the State of Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act. The 12 month accrual period is considered to begin for new employees on the employees first day of employment. An employee is entitled to begin using earned and accrued paid leave time 90 calendar days after commencement of employment. Paid leave under this Act shall accrue at the rate of one hour of paid leave for every 40 hours worked up to 40 hours of paid leave

• 401(k) with company match for eligible employees.

Eligibility: Active employees with one year of work and during that one year has completed 1,000 hours of service and is at least 21 years of age. Entry dates into the 401(k) are: 1/1 or 7/1 following the one year of service and completing 1,000 hours of work.
The company will match 100% of the first 3% of the employee contribution. As well as, match 50% of the next 2% of the employee contribution. (The company contribution/match maximum is 4%)
