Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information.
• Prepare detailed cost proposals and quotes for submission to clients.
• Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities related to cost estimates.
• Maintain and update cost databases and pricing models for future reference.
• Source and evaluate supplier quotes for raw materials and services.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, labor, and overhead costing.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/MRP systems or dedicated estimating software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to develop accurate cost models.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with specific ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor).
• Experience utilizing CAD viewing software for interpreting technical drawings.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes such as additive manufacturing or specialized finishing techniques.
• Basic understanding of cost accounting principles or financial modeling.
