Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts.
• Verify part conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Generate and complete accurate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and associated documentation.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances and critical defects.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve inspection discrepancies.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment according to schedule.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated expertise in using a wide range of precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Proven experience in performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and completing AS9102 or equivalent First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and their impact on part quality.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to accurately document inspection results and identify non-conformances.
• Ability to operate and/or program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for complex part verification.

Bonus Qualifications

• CMM programming experience (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification
• AS9100/ISO 9001 internal auditor training/certification
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods
