Sales Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Manager leads sales strategy, team performance, and revenue growth within a technical water/wastewater services environment. This role oversees sales and estimating efforts, develops customer relationships, and ensures profitable business development aligned with company goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute annual sales strategy, including revenue targets, territories, and market approach
• Lead, coach, and manage sales engineers and business development staff
• Drive pipeline development, forecasting, and CRM utilization
• Oversee proposal and bid development with estimating and engineering teams
• Build and maintain relationships with key municipal and industry clients
• Ensure proposals are competitive, accurate, and financially sound
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure sold work is deliverable and profitable
• Represent the organization at industry events and customer meetings
• Report sales performance, pipeline status, and forecasts to leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience leading a sales or business development team
• Strong knowledge of water/wastewater markets and municipal procurement
• Understanding of SCADA, instrumentation, and industrial control systems preferred
• Proven track record of meeting revenue targets in technical services or industrial markets
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
• Experience with CRM systems and sales forecasting tools
• Working knowledge of project financials (margin, cash flow, contracts)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6+ years of experience and 4+ years in sales leadership, OR
• Associate’s degree with 6+ years of experience and 6+ years in sales leadership, OR
• 10+ years of relevant industry sales experience with technical training
