Family Medicine physicians from the community continue to provide obstetrical care and many are a part of our Family Medicine Service, providing newborn, post-partum, and adult care. Were seeking a passionate and driven Family Medicine with Obstetrics (OB) Physician to join our Academic Family Medicine Residency clinic and GME in Grand Rapids, MI . This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health of our community while working in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Opportunity Details

• Full time, 1.0 FTE (0.4 Clinical & 0.6 Education GME)
  • 14 hours per week of direct clinical care
  • 16 hours per week of residency administrative time
  • Remaining hours consist of supervision of resident clinical care
• Providefull-scope family medicine, including:
• Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric healthcare
• General medical exams and yearly physicals
• Obstetrics (OB) - prenatal care and delivery
• Treatment of acute illnesses, such as upper respiratory infections or skin infections
• Treatment of chronic conditions such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiovascular disease
• Immunizations
• Dermatologic procedures (shave, punch, excision, cryotherapy), Women's Health procedures (including colposcopy), Musculoskeletal procedures (major, intermediate, small join injections, splinting), and Point-of-Care Ultrasound (with US guided procedures)
• Online scheduling and video visits available
• Attendings that do OB will share OB call responsibility and together cover all resident deliveries, oversee outpatient prenatal care and direct womens health curriculum in addition to managing their own population
• Join awell-established, collaborative team:
• 9 physicians and 1 APP
• RNs, LPNS, Mas, Care Manager, Social Worker and Pharm D
• Teaching opportunities with medical students (all year levels), residents, and fellows
• Clinic connected to Trinity Health Grand Rapids hospital with services including Cardiovascular Care, Cancer Care, Emergency and Level II Trauma, Heart and Vascular Care, Kidney Transplant Center, Labor & Delivery, Neurosciences and Orthopedics

Requirements

• Open to new graduates
• Family Medicine with Obstetrics Board Certified or Board Eligible within five years following the Start Date (unless sooner required by the applicable medical staff bylaws)
• Active Michigan medical license (or ability to obtain)
• DEA license
• BLS certification (must be maintained)
