We are in need of a Senior/Lead Estimator to be at the forefront of our company's growth and success. Your primary role will be to provide detailed and accurate commercial construction cost estimates, ensuring the financial viability and profitability of our projects. You will be working directly with our team of project managers, architects, and engineers, as well as interfacing with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and advancement. Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contracts to identify potential cost factors and evaluate their impact on the overall project budget.
- Lead the bid process, including preparing bid packages, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids, and presenting final bids to clients and management.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop cost-effective design and construction solutions.
- Conduct risk analysis to identify and mitigate potential cost overruns and project delays.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and construction materials and methods to ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Provide ongoing cost tracking and management throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budget compliance and profitability.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction.
- Proven track record as an Estimator in commercial construction (estimating projects of at least $5M+).
- Expert knowledge of commercial estimating techniques, software, and databases.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, contracts, and bidding processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interface with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing and reviewing cost estimates and bids.
- Proficiency in MS Office and estimating software.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
