Assistant Controller

Position Summary

The Assistant Controller supports financial operations by leading reporting, analysis, and internal controls while partnering with leadership to drive business performance. This role plays a key part in financial planning, cost management, and operational decision-making within a dynamic, manufacturing-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, and budgets
• Evaluate financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
• Support strategic planning through financial modeling, ROI analysis, and business case development
• Assist with product costing, pricing strategies, and margin analysis
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements (including SOX where applicable)
• Improve financial systems, reporting processes, and operational efficiencies
• Partner with operations on cost control, inventory, and asset utilization
• Provide financial insights to support new business opportunities, capital investments, and process improvements
• Supervise and develop accounting staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership responsibility
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
