Quality Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a Quality Technician to help us ensure that non-conforming products do not continue through the production process and are not distributed to customers. In this role, you will conduct routine quality inspections throughout production, including in-process and final inspections. During these inspections, you will use a variety of precision measuring tools to ensure that products follow specifications. You will also perform equipment calibrations and perform workstation audits. Applicants should have some manufacturing or machine shop experience.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Developing and maintaining company inspection reports.
2. Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards.
3. Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards as well as Federal and State law.
4. Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
5. Reporting quality anomalies to the supervisor.
6. Collating test data and drafting quality reports.
7. Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
8. Ensuring production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.
9. Initiate actions identify and record to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
10. At end of shift, complete all required paperwork, perform general housekeeping and clean-up as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
2. Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job.
3. Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
4. High school diploma or GED.
5. Experience as an Inspection or quality technician.
6. Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts.
7. High-level of visual awareness.
8. Advanced organizational skills.
9. Experience drafting reports and collaborating data.
10. Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
11. Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.

Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have skills recognized by management as essential to the quality organization generally supported by training, certificate of continuing education, or other documented evidence of keeping current with technologies.
2. Associate degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience).
3. Must have basic computer skills and perform basic math calculations.
4. Must be able to stand and walk for periods of time.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Repeated lifting and bending.
2. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
3. Able to withstand cold temperatures (35 – 40 degrees).

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

Normal Scheduled hours: 8-hour day assignments. Mandatory overtime hours and weekends when applicable.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.50 - $27.50 per hour
