Machine Learning Software Engineering Senior Advisor - Remote
Summary
We are looking for exceptional Full Stack Engineers in our Data & Analytics Engineering organization to help deliver meaningful value within the Healthcare space. The Full Stack Engineer is responsible for the delivering business needs end-to-end, starting from understanding the requirements to deploying the software into production. This role requires being fluent in some technologies while being proficient in others, while learning on the job to deliver value to both customers and to the business. Necessary attributes of being a Full Stack Software Engineers are ownership, accountability, and resilience.
In addition to delivery, the Full Stack Engineers should have an automation first and continuous improvement mindset, driving the adoption of CI/CD tools while supporting the improvement of the tool sets/processes.
This agile team partners with the Data & Analytics Engineering organization to help solve integration needs by supplying and consuming information needed for analytics and operations. We use technology to integrate and present meaningful analytical insights into the data to both Healthcare Providers and Internal Cigna business groups and develop applications to optimize affordability for all of Cigna's customers. Our tools analyze historical data to identify insights, forecast trends, and recommend actionable items to improve total medical costs.
You will have the unique opportunity to design, develop, and deploy new applications and features that will directly impact Cigna's bottom line, to ultimately provide better and more affordable healthcare for our customers. Our team uses a variety of technologies, from GenAI and big data to the latest cloud services and web frameworks. You will get to build state-of-the-art technology that is scalable and robust, utilizing cloud infrastructure, and full automation.
Responsibilities
Write loosely coupled, readable, reusable and modular code
Ensure ongoing data quality by monitoring data to identify problems before they impact the business
Design and architect alternative solutions independently
when to automate and when not to
Drive to simplify and reduce dependencies
Champion innovative ideas
Deliver enterprise or customer-facing applications in a variety of scenarios
Implement and deploy differing application solutions
Innovate outside of traditional architecture/software patterns when needed
Collaborate in a high-performing team environment, and an ability to influence and be influenced by others
Help distill complex ideas into an architectural and implementation plan, and then proving it out
Critically evaluate the trade-offs and implementation impacts of emerging vs. more established technologies
Qualifications
5+ years’ documented experience in a business intelligence or analytic development role on a variety of large-scale projects
Expertise in BigData and related technologies
Excellent Data analysis skills
Cloud certifications, and/or cloud development experience with developing applications or infrastructure on AWS
Knowledge of Apache Spark, distributed application development on spark using PySpark or Scala
Experience in development using scripting languages such as Python.
DevOps, CICD development experience is a plus
Comfortable in configuring and using multiple operating systems (Mac/Windows/*nix)
Design and architecture expertise with AWS, Teradata, BI, and related ecosystem tools.
Experience with disciplined software development lifecycle
Ability to communicate at various levels within large organizations
Knowledge of Big Data tool performance/tuning/measurement and usage criteria to drive appropriate tool selections and use
Experience with Health care information domains a plus
Experience working on advanced Big Data solutions is a plus
Expertise in designing business intelligence systems, dashboard reporting, and analytical reporting is a plus
Excellent communication skills and team collaboration skills
Experience with Healthcare domains is a plus
Advanced Degree (Master of Science or equivalent) in an engineering or quantitative discipline highly desirable
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
