Vice president trade compliance

This role is part of Alcon's Legal & Compliance function, a team that safeguards our company and our innovations to ensure our business is protected and our customers can access our eyecare innovations to see brilliantly.
The Vice President, Trade Compliance (Management Path), is primarily responsible for leading the global trade compliance strategy, ensuring all export and import activities meet legal and regulatory standards. You will guide senior teams, align business goals with compliance needs, and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies. Specifics include:
- Lead and manage the organization’s overall export and import compliance strategy
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations
- Oversee the submission and management of export and import licenses, permits, and certifications
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government regulatory agencies such as the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
- Provide guidance on complex compliance issues to senior leadership and other departments
- Oversee the establishment and monitoring of performance metrics for export and import compliance processes
- Ensure timely and accurate resolution of trade compliance-related issues, including investigations and complaints
- Lead the development of training and auditing programs to ensure continuous compliance across the organization
- Set clear objectives and strategy for a team to achieve goals by planning and directing the work and ensuring performance through coaching and development of associates
