Healthcare Customer Service

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

Location: Onsite – Traverse City Store

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

On-Call (Post-Hire): 1–3x/month with stipend

Position Overview

We are seeking a Customer Service Specialist with experience in customer-facing roles within the medical, insurance, or office administration industries. This role involves educating patients on medical equipment, troubleshooting, and guiding them through insurance and financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer inbound/outbound calls and emails in a timely, professional manner
• Consult one-on-one with patients to explain and troubleshoot medical equipment
• Educate patients and caregivers on proper equipment use and care
• Verify referral information, create orders, and schedule equipment delivery
• Collaborate with Respiratory Department staff and Program Managers
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow HIPAA guidelines

Must-Have Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service or administrative experience in a medical, insurance, or office setting
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist patients into seated positions

On-Call Details (Post-Hire)

• Weekdays (M–F): 5 PM – 9 PM | Stipend: $25
• Weekends (Sat–Sun): 9 AM – 9 PM | Stipend: $60
• Remote work allowed during on-call shifts (must have private, secure Wi-Fi access)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
