Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting field operations by facilitating the implementation and compliance of QA/QC programs. This position requires you to be a key resource for project teams, ensuring quality standards are consistently met through monitoring, training, incident investigation, and routine assessments. The role demands strong attention to detail and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly within the electrical scope of work at industrial plants.
Responsibilities

Maintain and promote a strong safety culture.

Assist the Project Manager in managing smaller projects.

Understand the terms, conditions, and scope of contracts.

Track materials, production, and project costs for review and approval.

Facilitate subcontractor activities.

Maintain the project schedule.

Perform basic estimating, take-offs, and solicitation of quotes.

Provide onsite administrative support.

Assist with QA/QC and test protocols.
Essential Skills
-
3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Inspector in Heavy Industrial or Power Plant projects.

Strong electrical background with a focus on quality management for electrical systems.

Experience with document control, including tracking and organization of project documents.

Proficiency in drawing revision and redlines management.

Experience overseeing subcontractors in electrical, mechanical, civil, or process piping disciplines.

Strong communication skills.

Experience reading prints and using project management software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to be away from home on a project site for weeks at a time.

Open to working evenings and weekends as needed.
Work Environment
The work environment involves supporting large, multi-discipline industrial pipeline facility construction projects, including expanding and upgrading existing plants. You will work on sites primarily in Bemidji, MN, and Mount Pleasant, MI, with project durations ranging from 6 to 12 months. The role involves long hours, typically 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. Travel home is accommodated with mileage or flight expenses covered within reason. The projects are mostly located in WI and the Midwest, and you will be stationed on-site or in a job trailer at compressor stations. The company offers a strong training program, pairing new engineers with a senior project manager or team to gradually take on project responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
