IT Operations Support Specialist

Akkodis is seeking an IT Operations Support Specialist for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. Candidate candidates must have strong experience managing IT infrastructure while supporting system health through troubleshooting, system configuration, and user setup responsibilities.

Rate Range: $35/hour to $40/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

IT Operations Support Specialist job responsibilities include:

• Manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including physical/virtual servers, networks, storage, telecom systems, and virtualization platforms.

• Configure, monitor, and support networking equipment—routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS, and wireless access points—to ensure secure and seamless communication.

• Implement and uphold security measures in collaboration with security teams, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.

• Establish, manage, and document data backup, recovery, and continuity procedures to safeguard business operations.

• Perform system upgrades, routine maintenance, capacity analysis, and SLA monitoring to maintain system reliability and proactively address performance concerns.

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues escalated by support teams and configure user systems, operating systems, and hardware as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or related technical roles.

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux, virtualization platforms, scripting (Bash/Python), and hardware/system troubleshooting.

• Proven ability to manage and maintain servers, networks, and core IT infrastructure while performing root‑cause analysis and supporting enterprise environments.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
