Technician - full - hospital

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs technically acceptable computerized electrocardiograms on a routine and emergency basis for both in-patient and outpatient services. Applies digital and cassette Holter monitor recorders, performs electrocardiogram editing after physician over-read as well as transaction capture (billing). Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Additional cardiovascular training in performing and interpreting EKG's or the equivalent.

• Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience as EKG technician preferred.

• BLS certified within 30 days of hire or transfer.

• EKG certification program preferred, but not required,

• Previous healthcare experience is helpful.
