Compensation: $50,000 Base + Tiered Commission + Vehicle Allowance (Target Earnings: $75k - $100k+)

Frankenmuth & Vassar True Value are not just local hardware stores—we are a paint powerhouse. In 2024, we were the largest Benjamin Moore hardware store account in the entire state of Michigan.

We have the inventory depth, the tinting capabilities, and the logistical muscle to handle the biggest commercial contractors in the region. Now, we need the right Outside Sales Representative to take the wheel.

• Inventory Confidence: Never worry about stock-outs again. Because of our volume, we carry the inventory depth of a corporate store with the agility of a family business.
• Autonomy: We don’t track your GPS or count your daily phone calls. If you hit your numbers, your schedule is your own.

The Compensation Package

We have designed a structure that provides stability while heavily rewarding growth.

• Base Salary: $50,000 annually (Paid semi-monthly).
• Commission Structure (The Accelerator):
• Tier 1 (Base): Earn 5% of Gross Profit on the first $50,000 in monthly sales.
• Tier 2 (Growth): Earn 15% of Gross Profit on all sales above $50,000 in that month.
• The Reality: Because of our existing volume, hitting the Tier 2 "Money Zone" is highly achievable for a motivated rep.
• Vehicle Package: Monthly Car Allowance (drive your own vehicle) + Company Gas Card .
• Expense Account: Budget provided for client lunches, entertainment, and relationship building.

Transparency Note: As a locally owned business, we do not currently offer a group Health Insurance plan. We have structured our Base Salary and Commission package higher than industry standards to help offset the cost of you securing a private plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Territory Management: Service and grow accounts for both the Frankenmuth and Vassar store locations.
• Consultative Selling: You aren't just taking orders; you are solving problems. Help contractors with product specs, color matching solutions, and troubleshooting job site issues.
• Manage Margins: You are paid on the Profit you generate. Your goal is to sell value, not just be the cheapest option in town.

Who We Are Looking For

• Experience: 2+ years of Outside Sales experience in the Paint, Coatings, or Building Materials industry is preferred. (Former Sherwin-Williams, PPG, or Behr reps are highly encouraged to apply).
• Self-Starter: You don’t need a manager telling you to get out of bed. You have a "hunter" mentality.
• Local Roots: Familiarity with the Frankenmuth/Vassar/Thumb area market is a major plus.
