The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform calibration of measurement tools, gauges, and equipment.
• Operate and program advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, laser scanners).
• Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies.
• Analyze measurement data, interpret engineering drawings, and generate detailed inspection reports.
• Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation in accordance with quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment and inspection processes.
• Assist in the development and improvement of metrology procedures and best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating various metrology equipment (e.g., CMMs, optical comparators, precision hand tools).
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with calibration processes, measurement system analysis (MSA), and metrology software.
• Solid understanding of measurement principles, uncertainty, and quality standards.
• Technical degree or certificate in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with programming or scripting for data analysis and automation (e.g., Python, VBA).
• ASQ GD&T Professional certification or advanced application of GD&T principles.
• Proficiency with specialized metrology software (e.g., PolyWorks, GOM Inspect, Minitab for SPC).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
