Data Engineer Intern - Summer 2026

As the Data Engineer Intern, you'll support the design, development, and maintenance of data platforms and solutions under the guidance of senior engineers. You'll work with cross-functional teams to learn best practices in building data integration solutions and services to meet business needs.

About the role

• Assist in identifying and investigating data quality issues under senior engineer guidance

• Support the development of Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes from various data repositories

• Learn to work in hybrid data environments with on-premises and cloud data warehouses

• Assist in designing and documenting relational and non-relational data models

• Support monitoring and troubleshooting performance issues in data environments

• Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions with the team

About you

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in computer science, information technology, or a related field

• Foundational knowledge of relational and non-relational databases

• Basic proficiency writing SQL queries

• Familiarity with at least one functional or object-oriented programming language

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python or similar scripting languages

• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

• Understanding of REST APIs and data integration concepts

• Exposure to CI/CD tools or automated deployment processes
