Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Sign Shop Production Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our signage shop. You will manage workflow, scheduling, materials, and quality while working closely with sales and directly interfacing with customers to coordinate project details, timelines, and expectations. The ideal candidate leads by example, stays organized, solves problems quickly, and ensures projects are completed accurately, on time, and to specification. This is not a desk-only role — you will actively participate in production, operate equipment, assist with fabrication and installation, and keep jobs moving efficiently from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily production workflow in a small sign shop environment
• Operate and maintain shop equipment: HP 360 printer, Graphtec plotter, CNC router, and laser
• Produce vinyl graphics, printed signage, and fabricated sign components
• Perform and oversee vinyl graphics installation on vehicles, walls, windows, and various substrates
• Install non-illuminated signs on building exteriors and interior walls
• Schedule jobs, prioritize production, and keep projects on track
• Work directly with sales team and customers to coordinate job details and timelines
• Conduct fabrication, trimming, mounting, assembly, and finishing
• Prepare substrates including aluminum, PVC, acrylic, wood, and composite materials
• Troubleshoot production or equipment issues as needed
• Maintain shop organization, equipment upkeep, and safe work environment
• Perform installations and lead by example in hands-on production work
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies while maintaining a safe working environment.

Skills

• 5+ years sign shop production experience (required)
• Hands-on experience running a sign shop or managing production workflow
• Experience operating large-format printer, vinyl plotter, router, and/or laser
• Strong vinyl installation experience (vehicles, walls, windows, graphics)
• Experience installing non-lit signage on buildings and interiors
• Proficient with basic hand tools (drills, levels, measuring tools, saws, etc.)
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to lift materials, climb ladders, and perform physical installation work
• Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
