Shipping Clerk
Job Title: Shipping Clerk – Sheet Metal Fabrication
Location: Wyoming, MI
Pay: $19-22/hr
Schedule: 1st Shift
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support shipping and logistics operations in a sheet metal fabrication environment. This role is responsible for preparing orders, coordinating shipments, and ensuring accurate, on-time delivery of fabricated metal products.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, package, and ship sheet metal parts and assemblies according to customer requirements
- Verify shipments against packing lists, bills of lading, and work orders
- Generate shipping documents and labels using shipping software and ERP systems
- Coordinate freight pickups with carriers and internal teams
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or overhead cranes as required
- Inspect outgoing products for damage and proper packaging
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation
- Assist with inventory transactions and staging of finished goods
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized shipping area
- Support other warehouse and shop activities as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous shipping or warehouse experience preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment a plus
- Ability to read packing lists, bills of lading, and work orders
- Forklift experience preferred (certification a plus)
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
