Inspection Technician | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part conformance to specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed quality records.
• Identify, quarantine, and report non-conforming materials or products.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and quality control plans.
• Assist with the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with quality control processes and standards in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying non-conformances.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced metrology software (e.g., PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, Minitab)
• Certification in GD&T (e.g., ASME GDTP Technologist) or advanced GD&T application
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience contributing to root cause analysis and corrective action processes
