Job Description

Seeking a skilled Low Voltage Journeyman Electrician to add to our team assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage electrical systems. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in electrical work, with a focus on systems such as data cabling, security, fire alarms, and building automation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage electrical systems.
• Work with systems including data cabling, security, fire alarms, and building automation.
• Read and interpret wiring schematics and blueprints.
• Work in various commercial construction environments such as schools, hospitals, or office buildings.
• Work with EMT Conduit on a daily basis.
• Understand and apply electrical theory, working with low voltage systems ranging from 120 to 480 volts.

Skills & Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician License
• 4+ years of experience in understanding wiring schematics and reading blueprints.
• 4+ years of experience in commercial construction environments.
• 4+ years of experience working with EMT Conduit.
• Experience in lead roles or supervisory positions in electrical, construction, or related fields.
• Skills in troubleshooting, bending conduit, pulling wire, and installing electrical systems.
• Familiarity with scissor lifts, panel wiring, and switchgear.

Work Environment

Work on the first shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with a standard 40-hour workweek and limited overtime. Weekend work is avoided whenever possible. Travel is limited to jobs within 60 miles from the office in Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo, MI, with mileage reimbursement available. Work primarily indoors, with opportunities to carpool from the shop if needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
