Great Lakes Hospital for Animals is a multi-doctor, AAHA-accredited small animal practice located in Belmont, MI—just 15 minutes north of downtown Grand Rapids. For over 35 years , our hospital has been committed to providing exceptional medical care, compassionate service, and a supportive workplace for our team and community.

We are seeking a full-time, experienced Associate Veterinarian to join our collaborative, education-forward team. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor who values high standards of medicine, strong technician support, and a culture that truly respects work-life balance.

• Only LVTs assist in surgery
• Dedicated administrative LVT supporting DVMs
• Technicians handle phone triage and home delivery coordination

Medicine & Equipment

• 4 exam rooms (plus overflow space)
• Dedicated surgical suite with advanced monitoring
• Digital radiology & digital dental radiography
• Ultrasound and therapy laser
• Full in-house lab (SediVue DX) with IDEXX & MSU reference labs
• Strong focus on dentistry, preventive care, and nutrition
• Emergency surgical capability during business hours
• No overnight hospitalization; emergency hospital located nearby
• Exploring Cat Friendly Practice initiatives, including feline-only appointment times

Who We’re Looking For

Ideal Candidate

• Interest or experience in:
• Dentistry
• Ultrasound
• Advanced soft tissue surgery
• Orthopedics or post-orthopedic care
• Internal medicine
• Values collaboration, mentorship, and continuing education
• High standards of care and strong client communication skills

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

• Full-time preferred
• Closed on Sundays
• Half-day Saturdays (rotating; one doctor on each Saturday)
• No after-hours or on-call
