Position Details

Duties:

• Work under the supervision of the building administrators to provide mathematical intervention to students.
• Work with at-risk students in a small group setting.
• Track, monitor and incentivize student math achievement.
• Build and maintain appropriate relationships with students, parents, and school personnel.
• Maintain records as indicated by administration.
• Any other duties as assigned by building administration to support the success of at-risk students.

Qualifications:

• Four-year college degree preferred.
• Paraprofessionals must meet one of the following requirements:
  • Completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education;
  • Obtained an Associate degree; or
  • Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment of knowledge and the ability to assist in instructing:
    • Reading, writing and mathematics, or
    • Reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness

• The use of effective and acceptable techniques of human relations in dealing with students, staff members, other school officials and parents.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information related to students and school.
• Typing and other office skills (25 wpm).
• Experience working with elementary mathematical instruction preferred.
• Pursuant with State of Michigan Student Safety Legislation all prospective hires must provide fingerprinting and background check results to the District prior to employment.

Rate: Per contract wage schedule
