Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time, benefited Faculty A, 5 level position. Starting salary range: $65,082.00 - $75,929.00/annually, depending upon experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Biology
Instructor is afull-time, benefited position responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the STEM Pathway and other related
courses at thecommunity college level. The instructor will teach a range of biology courses, including General Biology, Animal Biology,
Research, Plantand Fungal Biology, catering to students with varied academic and career goals. Responsibilities include developing,
revising, anddelivering course materials aligned with college standards, assessing student performance, organizing and executing laboratory
experiments,supervising students in a laboratory setting, and providing academic support to help students succeed. The instructor must
demonstrate adeep commitment to fostering student success through engagement in departmental activities and staying current in the fields
of teaching andbiology through professional development.
In addition to classroom teaching, the instructor will actively participate inmentoring and academic support initiatives. The instructor will contribute to the continuous improvement of the department by collaboratingwith colleagues on curriculum development, program assessment, and student success strategies.
The role also involves institutionalservice, including participation on committees, involvement in accreditation processes, and collaboration on departmental projects. Theinstructor will remain current in the field through ongoing professional development, research, or creative activities within the classroomand college community.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee wouldfrequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campusfacilities
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would includekeyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor

- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee mustbe able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate;however, there may be instances of somewhat loud environments.

Education and Experience Requirements
MinimumQualifications:
- Thesis-based M.S. (or equivalent) in biological science or related field such as biology, biochemistry,cell biology, ecology, or zoology
*In lieu of the required degree, candidates with equivalent professional experience,industry certifications, or a combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
PreferredQualifications:
- Doctoral degree in biological science or related field such as biology, biochemistry, cell biology,ecology, or zoology.
- Three years of college-level teaching experience including teaching in a laboratory setting
- Experience with web-based learning management systems
- Experience with undergraduate research mentoring and interest in supportinga student driven research program
- Experience with specialized instrumentation and techniques (microscopy, genomics,bioinformatics, etc.)
