Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Cardiovascular Technologist. You will perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, diagnostic and interventional peripheral procedures. Assists the physician in placing catheters into the coronary arteries, and peripheral arteries and veins so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the vascular structure and function of the coronary and peripheral vessels. All Cardiac Cath Technologists must successfully complete a four-month onboarding fellowship to include clinical rotation within the Cath Lab along with weekly 1-hour didactic sessions. These didactic sessions will complement clinical experience in a synchronous way.

Job Description

• The Technologist will assist in preparing the patient for the procedure as well as assist the RN in the set up and preparation of rooms, prior to beginning procedures, to provide for safe, efficient delivery of care. The Technologist will assure you that proper documentation/consent is present in the chart prior to the procedure start time.
• The Technologist will demonstrate the ability to obtain hemostasis safely after a procedure.
• The Technologist demonstrates the ability to utilize the x-ray equipment accurately and independently
• The Technologist is responsible for radiation safety compliance during procedures
• The Technologist will demonstrate the ability to accurately monitor and document all procedures performed in the Cath Lab in the MacLab system.
• The Technologist will assist Cath Lab team with procedure room turnover after every procedure following Infection Control protocol.
• Technologist enhances professional growth and development through participation in education, workshops, in-services, and current literature. Maintains require certifications and completes yearly unit and hospital mandatory’s prior to performance evaluation. Seeks specialty certification (RCIS).
• Administers Intra Coronary Medication per Client and Unit’s policies.
• All other duties assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Skills Required

• Experience with Cath, EP, and possibly structural procedures
• This is a Cath and EP position; candidates must be able to perform both.
• EMR: EPIC

Education/Training/Certifications

• Associate’s degree

Credentials

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
• Registered Technologist, Radiography (ARRT, RT)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Medical Radiologic Technologist
• BLS from AHA
• Delaware radiation license is different from ARRT; DE rad license is also acceptable

Additional Requirements

• Shift 10hr Days

Pay Rate/Salary

• Up to $77.00 per hour depending on experience
