Accounting Manager - Hybrid role
Located 50 Miles North of Detroit - Hybrid role, 3 days/week in office
Compensation $110,000 - $125,000 Plus 15% bonus
I am currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager role for a headquarters location 50 Miles North of Detroit, MI. This is a publicly traded building products manufacturer with over $2 billion in sales , 45 plants located within the United States.
This is a Hybrid role, 3 days in office, 2 from home and will have 3 direct reports. Must live within commutable distance.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for core accounting functions for the retail corporate team including helping to lead the accounting function, and applicable team. This role will be instrumental in completing required reporting, monthly reconciliations. Additional responsibilities include data entry coordination, quality assurance, and communication with billing sources to ensure the accuracy of processing.
Responsibilities include the following.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Build an understanding of and support current month end close processes
- Prepare and review month end (including quarterly and annual) close Corporate journal entries and reconciliations
- Assist with process improvement and automation of current processes
- Manage the operational and financial reports changes
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Consolidate financial data across retail locations and maintain general ledger integrity
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with auditors to support SOX compliance
- Manage cross functional communication with AR and AP and shared services teams
- Training and performance management for accounting staff
- Assist with the design and implementation of Oracle close processes
The hiring manager is looking for 5-10 years of experience supporting corporate consolidations and experience within a SOX compliant environment. A Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance with extra credentialing such as a CPA or MBA valued. The qualified candidate will have good ERP system experience along with well-developed skills in Excel. Occasional travel may be required, expectation 10% annually.
The salary range is $110,000–125,000 per year + 15% bonus. Full benefits including matching 401k, healthcare, dental etc. This is a great company, very solid culture and growth.
