CNC Machinist Job Summary

We are looking for a 2nd shift CNC Machinist for a conveyor manufacturer in Walker, MI. This role requires experience operating CNC mills and lathes, with an emphasis on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC Fadals, Mazak mills, and lathes to perform complex machining operations
• Interpret programming instructions, operational data, and setup guides for tooling arrangements, clamping methods, machine calibrations, and control settings
• Execute machining operations including boring, milling, drilling, facing, threading, profiling, and contouring
• Conduct in-process inspections and make machine/program adjustments to ensure finished parts meet exact specifications
• Perform measurements using precision instruments; operate a CMM machine for quality verification
• Complete deburring, cleaning, and minor assembly tasks as needed
• Maintain and update process instructions and control plans
• Keep work area, tools, fixtures, and documentation clean and organized
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously as required
• Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives, Continuous Improvement efforts, and WPO projects

CNC Machinist Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-year degree or formal technical training highly preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ combined formal training and hands-on experience in CNC machining or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques and CNC operations
• Proficient in blueprint reading and use of precision measurement tools
• Ability to lift up to 50-100lbs frequently

Schedule and Pay

• 2nd shift: 3pm – 1:30am, Monday-Thursday
• $23-$25/hour DOE
