Sales Associate/Account Manager
Sales Associates are critically important to our growth and success. As a Sales Associate, you will create, maintain and expand relationships with current customers, be responsible for achieving contract renewals, meeting sales quotas, and identifying enhancement opportunities. Upholding our core values as a brand ambassador when attending network events while establishing, building, and managing customer and network partnerships.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES.
1. Sales Quotas
· Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets established by each division.
· Responsible for generating sales in snow removal, lawn maintenance, and landscape design/build services.
· Prepare and deliver accurate contract proposals, bids, and agreements aligned with client needs and budgets.
· Create material takeoffs based on design plans to support proposal development.
· Present and pitch landscape services to prospective clients, highlighting tailored solutions and unique service offerings.
2. Client-Facing Expectations / Account Management
· Serve as the primary point of contact for both residential and commercial clients across design-build and bid-based projects.
· Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients to understand and respond to their evolving needs.
· Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for enhancements or additional services.
· Proactively manage a portfolio of client properties by identifying concerns, recommending improvements, and ensuring ongoing satisfaction.
· Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and building client trust.
3. Communication
· Follow up consistently with leads and clients to ensure alignment, clarity, and responsiveness.
· Schedule and conduct site walk-throughs, delivering quarterly property analyses and updates to clients.
· Collaborate with internal team members and departments to align efforts and maintain project momentum.
· Attend weekly sales meetings to coordinate strategy and share updates on active accounts and prospects
4. Lead Generation
· Actively prospect for new clients through cold calling, cold emailing, and networking.
· Represent the company at trade shows, community events, and marketing activities to generate leads.
· Engage in discovery conversations with prospects both in-person and over the phone to qualify and nurture opportunities.
· Build and maintain rapport with prospective clients to keep communication lines open for future sales.
· Identify upsell opportunities by meeting regularly with customers and understanding their evolving needs.
· Review and act on the Accounts Receivable (A/R) report as needed to maintain strong client relationships.
· Assist office staff with site mapping, location details, and other logistical documentation.
· Track and manage lead interactions and client data accurately using the company’s CRM.
· Stay informed on industry trends and market opportunities to adjust strategies and offerings.
· Partner with production managers to address customer questions, concerns, and follow-ups.
5. Snow Removal Account Management
· Oversee all client relationships tied to winter snow removal services.
· Manage assigned house accounts based on geographic regions set by the Sales Manager.
· Conduct site visits for pre-season assessments and post-storm touch-ups when necessary.
· Document all site visits and conditions thoroughly for internal debriefs and handoffs to the production team.
· Maintain detailed records of each property’s existing conditions to ensure accurate service delivery.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of sales, B2B, or business development experience, preferably within the landscape design sales (and snow removal) or related industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; willingness and ability to learn landscape, estimate, and CRM software.
- Understanding of landscape plant material, planting techniques appropriate for the Michigan region, construction (including irrigation) products and procedures. (preferred)
- Experience of installing plants and/or hardscaping materials is a plus
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and a good driving record
